Blackmount Country Club - 1 Hour & 25 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in North Haverhill, NH, this 9-hole course features all the hallmarks of New Hampshire golf with four sets of tees per hole, superior greens and tight fairways. Blackmount also has an on-site Driving Range and Practice Green.   The course was designed by Robert Stoddard and opened in 1996 and Robert still manages the course as the Owner/Manager/Superintendent.

 

Bradford Golf Club - 1 Hour & 2 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in Bradford, Vermont, this 9-hole course has a short layout, but will reward good shots and provide a fun golf outing for everyone. The course opened in 1924 and is currently managed by Tim Woodward, as the General Manager.

 

Carter Country Club - 35 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in nearby Lebanon, NH, Carter Country Club is a 9-hole course that is very hilly and has small challenging greens and a few narrow tree-lined fairways. The course was designed and built in 1922 by Donald Ross, then redesigned by Orrin Smith in the 1930’s and in 1991 Phil Wogan designed the new back nine. The course has three ponds which come into play on four of the nine holes. The longest hole is #3 which is a 485-yard, par 5, requiring a tee shot up a slight dogleg left fairway.

 

 

Claremont Country Club - 25 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in nearby Claremont, NH, Claremont Country Club is a 9 hole course with small challenging greens. The views of Ascutney Mt. and Green Mt. add to the enjoyment you'll get from playing the course. Claremont Country Club is open to the public Sunday through Saturday with some weekend restrictions and with no tee times needed. They do advise you to check their schedule of events prior to making your plans. 

 

Country Club of New Hampshire - 1 Hour & 7 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in North Sutton, NH, this 18-hole course plays from 6000 to 7000 yards of challenging golf at the foot of majestic Mount Kearsarge and boasts some of the lushest greens in the state.   The fairways meander through picturesque, wooded foothills and the front nine is fairly level while the back nine is more hilly. There are numerous sand traps on the course (so don't forget your sand wedge), and on many of the holes water will come into play.  Despite this, the course plays very fair so you'll soon see why this course was twice rated one of the top 75 public golf courses in the U.S. by Golf Digest.

 

Crown Point Country Club - 30 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in nearby Springfield, Vermont, Crown Point Country Club offers 18 holes of championship golf.  Experience golf as it should be, far from the hustle and bustle, just you and nature in a pastoral Vermont country setting. Host to numerous Vermont and New England amateur championships, Crown Point Country Club provides a challenge for players of all abilities.

 

Eastman Golf Links - 52 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in Grantham, NH, Eastman Golf Links is a premier, semi-private, always open to the public, 18 hole golf course. Hit a few shots on the driving range, try a new golf club, and play a few holes or full round. A quick drive-up snack window awaits you at the turn, as well as a full-service restaurant. You can order your lunch from the golf shop too and have it ready when you finish the 9th hole. Over $1.1 Million in course renovations were completed this last season. Some of the renovations included many fairways being reconstructed, every bunker being rebuilt and adding a new PGA Family 9-hole Short course to lesson the intimidation of golf.          

 

Fore-U-Golf Center - 34 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in nearby West Lebanon, NH, Fore-U-Golf Center offers a Driving Range with 52 Artificial Driving Stations, 20 Grass Tee Stations, a Short Game Practice & Learning Area, lessons available with a PGA Pro and Lighted for Night Time Golf. The Center also offers Two 18-hole Miniature Golf Courses; with their River Run Golf Course being Handicap Accessible, a Practice Putting Green and Lighted for Night Time Mini-Golf. For those who are interested, Fore-U-Golf also offers Baseball Cages, Ice Cream and a Walking Trail.

 

Located in nearby Hanover, NH, Hanover Country Club at Dartmouth College is a college-owned, semi-private 18 hole course open to the public. Hanover Country Club is a championship course that underwent a major renovation in 2001. The course was lengthened to 6500 yards, four new holes were added, and all 18 greens were reconstructed with distinctive Donald Ross style features under the design and direction of golf architect, Ron Prichard. It is the home of the Men's and Women's Dartmouth golf teams and the Hanover High School State Champion team. We are a semi-private club and welcome public play.

 

 

John P. Larkin Country Club - 15 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in nearby Windsor, Vermont, John P. Larkin Country Club is a 9-hole regulation length golf course. This short layout course has 3 sets of tee-boxes for a fun, but challenging golfing experience. This course was designed to play over five different levels of elevation. The fairways are moderately open, but out-of-bound stakes line two holes. Many well-placed bunkers can be found around the greens.

 

Lake Morey Country Club - 51 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in Fairlee, Vermont, this 18 hole course has been Home of the Vermont Open for over 50 years, in which you'll appreciate the same challenges the professionals face. The course is impeccably maintained and any golfer will admire the sweeping fairways and plush greens. The full 18 holes have been in operation since 1929, giving the course a mature, finished design. With irrigated fairways and greens and an efficient drainage system, the course plays consistently well, even in periods of drought or heavy rain.  The course features sand traps, water hazards, and well-guarded greens.   Don't let the yardage fool you, the fairways are lined with spruce trees from tee to green and demand accuracy and precision. Their fairly flat front nine gives way to a rolling back nine with breathtaking views.

 

Montague Golf Club - 1 Hour & 7 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in Randolph, Vermont, Montague Golf Club is an eighteen-hole golf course serving the greater Randolph community and Central Vermont. Montague offers a practice area and green and a newly renovated friendly clubhouse with food, beverages and lounge area. Montague has improved the course during the last three seasons, thanks to award-winning Course Superintendent Garry Crothers and his staff. Some of these changes included new greens, new bunkers including a change to their sand, brand new tee boxes, and added length to many holes on the front and back. All of these improvements were designed for increased challenge, improved aesthetics and most importantly, fun while playing Montague.

 

Newport Golf Club - 40 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in Newport, NH this 18-hole Phil Wogan design, utilizes the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains, streams and ponds to frame the 18-holes built on 151 acres. Areas of the course were carved out of a forest of mature pine, hemlock, oak, maple, cherry and birch and other sections of the course were built on open pastureland. The well-drained fertile soil in the valley is an excellent base that supports the growth of the plush bent grass, grown on the greens, tees and fairways. The combination of changes in elevation, the meandering Sugar River, natural wetland areas, annual and perennial flower gardens, 8 ponds and tree-lined fairways create a beautifully scenic and serene backdrop for an enjoyable round of golf.

 

White River Golf Club - 1 Hour & 18 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in nearby Rochester, Vermont, this 9 hole course is unlike many golf courses, because they encourage golfers to bring their families. . There is no better place for the up and coming young golfer to learn the game.  Informality is emphasized at their club and the laid back atmosphere will provide an enjoyable experience for the entire family. Designed by Peter McGowan, the White River golf course opened in 1972 and is still managed by Peter J. McGowan as the Principal Manager.

 

Woodstock Country Club - 31 Minutes from Ascutney

Located in nearby Woodstock, Vermont, Woodstock Country Club features a 6,000-yard, 18-hole, par-70 golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and is nestled in the beautiful Kedron Valley. With water at more than a dozen holes the course is a challenge for even the most seasoned golfers. Already a superb site, the course fairways and sand traps have recently been redesigned and renovated to further enhance the overall golfing experience.
