 Mountain Operations
All Mountain Operations applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to work outside, in cold temperatures, for extended periods of time. Required to work weekends and holidays.

Lift Mechanic/Operator
Full Time Year Round or Seasonal
Qualifications:

Mechanical ability is necessary. Must be able to swing chairs, shovel snow and maintain load and unload ramps on chair lifts. Some supervisory experience is helpful. Driver’s license is desirable.

Job Description:
· Does pre-operational checks on detachable quad chair lift.
· Operates lift for public transportation.
· Coordinates relief and lunch breaks for attendants assigned to his/her lift.
· Does “first line” troubleshooting for chair lift problems.
· Completes all daily lift paperwork.
· Assist with routine lift maintenance.
· Checks tickets and passes.
· Handles crowd control in lift queue areas.
· Monitors and controls lift unload area.
· Perform line checks.
· During summer performs maintenance under the direction of the Lift Maintenance Coordinator.

Lift Operator
Full or Part Time Seasonal
Qualifications:

Must be able to swing chairs, shovel snow and maintain load and unload ramps on chair lifts. Some supervisory experience is helpful. Some mechanical ability is necessary.

Qualifications:

Must be able to swing chairs, shovel snow and maintain load and unload ramps on chair lifts.

Job Description:
· Assists lift operators and quad operators running chair lifts for public.
· Checks tickets and passes.
· Handles crowd control in lift queue areas.
· Monitors and controls lift unload areas.
· Performs line checks.

Snowmaking Shift Supervisor
Full Time Year Round or Seasonal
Qualifications:

Minimum of 4 months experience in snowmaking department. Must be able to lift and drag snowmaking guns and hoses (50 lbs +) and shovel snow. Drivers license is required. May be required to work nights.

Job Description:
· Trains new snowmakers.
· Supervises snowmaking department under the direction of Snow Surfaces Manager.
· Assures safe practices for on-hill snowmakers.
· Supervises the set up of snowmaking guns and hoses under the direction of the Snow Surfaces Manager.
· Checks and moves snowmaking guns while in operation.
· Supervises the monitoring of pump stations, valve stations and compressor pad during start-up, shutdown and operation of the snowmaking system.
· Runs chair lift for snowmaker transport.
· Supervises snow removal.
· Operates snow plow and sander trucks.
· During summer is assigned to grounds dept.

Snowmaking Technician I

Qualifications:

Driver's license is highly desirable. Must be able to lift and drag snowmaking guns and hoses (50 lbs +) and shovel snow. May be required to work at night.

Job Description:
· Entry-level snowmaker.
· Assists with setting up snowmaking guns and hoses.
· Assists with checking and moving snowmaking guns with another snowmaker.
· Assists with monitoring pump stations, valve stations and compressor pad.
· Run chair lifts for snowmaker transport.
· Shovels snow from walkways and roofs.

Groomer
Full or Part Time Seasonal
Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year experience operating heavy equipment. Driver's license is required. Must be able to lift and drag snowmaking guns and hoses (50 lbs +) and shovel snow. Will be required to work at night.

Job Description:
· Grooms ski slopes and trails under the direction of the snow surfaces manager and the mountain manager.
· Follows grooming plan.
· Responsible for the safe operation of grooming equipment.
· Transports snowmakers and equipment when necessary.
· Assists with snow removal.

Vehicle Mechanic
Full Time Seasonal
Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year experience working on vehicles. Driver's license is required. Knowledge of diesel, gasoline engines, hydraulic equipment a plus.

Job Description:
Assist in the maintenance of resort vehicles, grooming machines, trucks and other ski area related equipment.

Ski Patrollers
Full or Part Time Seasonal and Volunteers
Skiing Skills:

Must have above intermediate level ski skills and must be physically able to perform all task required by the Ascutney Mountain Resort Ski Patrol Manual and emergency procedures.

First Aid Skills:
As required by the National Ski Patrol System and must attend the Annual Ski Patrol refresher or equivalent. OEC or EMT certification required.

Job Description:
Continuously strive to improve first aid, skiing and toboggan handling skills.
Demonstrate and enforce safe skiing and work practices.

Ski/Snowboard Instructors
Children’s Instructors
Adult Program Instructors

Qualifications:
· Openings in our Adult Ski Program for Experienced and Entry Level Instructors.
· All Ski instructors must take part in the ongoing clinics offered throughout the ski season by the Ski School Staff.
· All Instructors must be able to ski from the highest operating point of the mountain prior to line-up.

Responsibilities:
· Be punctual and in attendance when expected.
· Participate in the AM and PM group lesson line-up and check in hourly for private lessons.
· Use good judgment in selecting terrain which is safe and appropriate to your students ability.
· Meet or exceed the expectations of each student by providing a quality lesson which analyses and facilitates the students needs.
· Ski in accordance with the Skier’s Responsibility Code.

Tickets

Ticket Sellers
Full or Part Time Seasonal
Must possess the ability to think quick, handle money and process accurate transactions in a friendly and efficient manner.

Basic Function:
· Sell tickets and make daily drops of cash/charges.
· Answer general questions regarding mountain conditions, lessons and equipment rental.
